49ers Press Conference: Kyle Shanahan Cancels Mandatory Mini-Camp, Discusses Injuries, Plus More.

Kyle Shanahan took to the podium to address some of the recent injury concerns.

One of the topics on everyones mind prior to the beginning of this press conference was the conversation surrounding injuries that seem to continue to plague this team since Kyle Shanhan and Co. have taken over.

Kyle went on to discuss the succession of events that occurred on Monday that led to Justin Skule tearing his ACL and Tarvarius Moore tearing his Achilles.

The 49ers had two players go down over the span of three plays, per Kyle Shanahan.

Yikes.

As a result of the attendance at OTAs and based on the current state of the team, Shanahan felt it was necessary to cancel mandatory mini-camp that was slated to start next week.

The 49ers aren't the only team to have announced they have cancelled mandatory mini-camp as the Texans were one of the other teams to not partake.

Kyle provided some comments on how he perceives these injuries and how this team goes about practice.

"No one just really cancels practice because someone gets hurt. That would be extremely weird." #49ers Kyle Shanahan on if he considered cancelling practice after two players went down over a three play span.

Kyle provided some updates on some injured stars that we haven't seen in practice yet, Nick Bosa and Dee Ford.

49ers Nick Bosa has been in the building for a week.

Dee Ford has been working at the facility for 3 months.

He headed back to Kansas City with his back specialist before he comes back for training camp.

Kyle Shanahan and offensive coordinator Mike McDaniels had some great things to say about rookie defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans.

"He's built for this"

DeMco Ryans was an extension of the coaching staff as a rookie MLB with the Texans, where Shanahan and McDaniels were coaching at the time.

"DeMeco (Ryans) has been made for this role"

one takeaway is that Kyle Shanahan is very confident in his new defensive coordinator.
