49ers Fined For Viral Video Of Rookie CB

Brad Graham • June 10, 2021

The team has been penalized for a video that a rookie cornerback posted to social media.

Today the 49ers were stripped of one week of rookie development that is allotted to NFL teams per NFL rules. The video was originally posted by rookie CB Deommodore Lenior on his Instagram story.

Naturally, I reposted the video to our network and it went viral.

The rookie deleted the video within minutes after posting but not before it was already picked up by other accounts.

The team will lose a week of their rookie development program due to impermissible contact on the play.

It appears to be a ticky-tack violation but it could be more about sending a message after the practice video went viral. Our tweet was retweeted by Deion Sanders and reposted by SportCenter and viewed over 1 million times.

Prime took notice.

Although the 49ers lose out on a week of rookie development, it might not be too bad of a situation considering the wave of injuries that has hit the team recently.

It appears that we wont see the 49ers on the field until training camp begins.
