Richard Sherman was last shown via his Instagram at an amusement park with his kids yesterday. Less than 24 hours later, he finds himself in jail facing serious charges.
This is certainly a tough situation for Sherman who was looking to be added to a team prior/during training camp. Sherman told me early on in May that he had interest in returning to the 49ers and that there was mutual interest in bringing him back.
"If so, we got one last run in us." Sherman said about his potential return to the 49ers.
Now it appears that any chance of return for Sherman has been slammed shut. NFL teams typically don't get involved with any type of free agent who is in the middle of a serious allegation like this and will allow due process to play out. This is an unfortunate situation as I truly believe there was a strong chance that Sherman returned to the 49ers roster in 2021, at least prior to todays news.

On Richard Sherman: It’s standard practice to hold the suspect in a domestic violence case without bail until he appears before a judge. Per ESPN, Sherman allegedly tried to force his way into the home of a family member & fought with police when they arrived. No one was injured.

UPDATE: Per law enforcement, it appears Richard Sherman's arrest stemmed from a late-night car crash, which he allegedly fled on foot to a family member's house. They called 911. Police say they found him outside and he resisted arrest. Nobody was hurt. https://t.co/JTPD8eTXTJ
