49ers Waived OL Justin Skule, Sign Another OL

Roster moves for the 49ers:

An unfortunate series of events have occurred as the 49ers were forced to move on from former 6th round draft pick OL Justin Skule who tore his ACL earlier this week.

If Skule clears waivers, he will revert back to the 49ers where the team will either stash him on injured reserve or be forced to release him.

This is likely a move to clear some money/roster space for the new offensive lineman the 49ers signed today.

The 49ers quickly found another depth piece in journeyman OL Senio Kelemete.

Kelemete was a 5th round draft pick for the Arizona Cardinals in 2012 out of the University of Washington. The offensive lineman has seen game action in 88 games -- starting 42 of them.

He played last season with the Texans, making 5 starts before being released in February.

Kelemete is likely nothing more than a camp body. I have a hard time envisioning Senio challenge for a roster spot when it comes to making the final 53 man roster.
