49ers Give Safety Contract Extension

Another free agent domino falls for the 49ers.

OK, it's not Jaquiski Tartt but I still find myself liking this signing.

The 49es have officially announced the signing of S Kai Nacua to a one-year extension. Kai was added to the roster late in 2020 and clearly left a mark and is slated to return and be a presence in training camp.

I personally think this is a good move as the 49ers need to continue to bolster cost-effective depth all over the roster.

I feel Kai has a place on this teams as a special teamer but I see a skill-set that could translate to having him start in a pinch and some upside that could be developed further.

I believe the 49ers need to be really good with these depth signings as they could see types of players could wind up seeing significant time if the cap concerns remain throughout the season.
