Raheem Mostert Responds To Being A Possible Trade Candidate
Brad Graham • July 20, 2021
Raheem Mostert isn't buying that he could be on the move.
Yesterday, 49ers' beat writer Matt Maiocco floated the potential trade of running back Raheem Mostert via his podcast, 49ers Talk with Laura Britt of NBC Sports Bay Area.
The notion of Mostert potentially being dealt is based on the the 49ers having a crowded RB room that could lend itself to seeing a guy like Mostert traded. The 49ers' traded up into the 3rd round to select RB Trey Sermon out of Ohio State and selected RB Elijah Mitchell in the 6th round as well. The team also added RB Wayne Gallman in free agency.
Here is what Maiocco had to say:
Here at TheSFNiners, Raheem Mostert is a player that we lift up regularly and is a fan favorite amongst the Faithful. That means we are quick to defend our guys from any speculation of being traded.
I made a post to instagram showing Mostert figuratively stiff arming a tweet about him being traded and Mostert responded.
Raheem Mostert responded on this post with emoji's that would translate to "Smoke and Mirrors". By definition, smoke and mirrors means; the obscuring or embellishing of the truth of a situation with misleading or irrelevant information.
Clearly, Mostert is buying the trade talks as he heads into a contract year with the 49ers.
