49ers' Kyle Shanahan Admits Pursuing QB Matthew Stafford During Offseason

You heard it from the man himself. 

Some old stories have been rehashed as the 49ers' Head Coach joined the Flying Coach Podcast which is hosted by NFL Networks Peter Schrager and Rams Head Coach Sean McVey. 

It is a great podcast and definitely worth a listen but 49ers' fans ears perked up a bit when they got to the part about Matthew Stafford and Kyle Shanahan's interest in the veteran quarterback. 

This sound bite takes us back to January, specifically the Senior Bowl, where all the smoke started surroudning Stafford. The second I touched down in Mobile, AL for the Senior Bowl, my phone was already buzzing with these rumors. 

The word: the 49ers are trying to get Matthew Stafford. 


We clearly didn't get Stafford and Kyle Shanahan moved up to the 3rd overall pick to select Trey Lance and the rest is history.
