49ers' Claim Texans DB

John Lynch & Co. add secondary help via waivers.

Who is Mark Fields?

Taking a look at the 49ers newest DB -- Mark Fields makes his way to his fourth team in the NFL after breaking into the league as an undrafted free agent with the Chiefs in 2019.

Fields was primarily a backup at Clemson during his 4 years there but shined when he entered the 2019 National Championship against arguably one of the better receiving cores in college history.

Fields was actually traded as a rookie prior to the start of the season for a 7th round pick.

He didn't last very long with the Vikings and bounced around practice squads for the majority 2019-2020 before being claimed by the Texans in December 2020.

Fields had 2 tackles in week 17 for the Texans prior to being waived on March 2nd.

This appears to be a depth move to help supplement bodies in camp.
